This is my first visit, I think it is great. I plan on building a model railroad very soon that wil feature Monon, B & O and other local railroads that ran through Bedford and Mitchell Indiana. I'll be back soon.

No, it was never a depot. Check your 2003 Tour Book dummy. It was a section house or something. It was never a depot.

I lived in Hammond, Indiana many years ago and remember the long delays in the downtown section of the city waiting for all the trains to pass including the Monon, Nickel Plate, Erie and IHB. My dad is 89 and used to pick up the mail on the trains..He is 89 and would enjoy a good photo of a Monon Diesel Engine.
Where can I get one? Thanks..John Ghrist

I was born in Hammond, IN. I had a great aunt who lived in downtown Hammond along the tracks. I have fond memories of sitting on her front porch and watching the Monon trains go by.
